JASMON was founded as a side-project of Roland Voss in the late 90s during a collaboration with Berlin-based producer and musician Genetic Drugs. The concluding album "Spacecake" which combined electronic breakbeats and dub elements with field recordings from India and Africa was released on Blue Flame Records and was highly acclaimed worldwide. The actual Jasmon debut "Gentle Flowers" was first released on Japanese label Receptortune and later on the freshly born German label Peacelounge Recordings. It contained an outstanding collaboration song with Egyptian moviestar and singer Mohammed Mounir, two songs with Kongo born singer Alain N'kossi Konda and a number of deeply alluring instrumental tracks with a gentle worldmusic flavour that have made their way into numerous TV productions and have formed the fundaments of the Jasmon sound world. After the album "Cosmic Trigger" which had been released in Japan only the next album "Hammock Dreams" - a collaboration of the brothers Roland Voss and Daniel Voss - was released on the brothers' own label Lemongrassmusic in 2005 with a domestic release in Russia. After a 5 years break the Voss brothers come up with the new album "Shangri-La" in November 2012 and present the finest and maturest Jasmon album so far. More info see below.
