Glam Sam And His Combo - "The Coolsville Sessions" (February 15th 2013)
Glam Sam And His Combo - "The Coolsville Sessions"
The groove lovers of the world will stand up and shout, united in
the name of the funk, cause Glam Sam is back. And he’s back to stay.
Last year’s ep’s, the jazzy ”The Riviera Sessions” and the old
school hip hop grooves of ”The Brooklyn Sessions”, are now followed by a
selection of tracks produced by a man who found his way home. At last.
This time Glam Sam is grooving back home in Coolsville, presenting
the very fresh ep ”The Coolsville Sessions”.
The man is kickin’ it off with a global soulful hip hop anthem
called ”New York, London, Tokyo”, with an intense young energy and a soulful
brass section that will make any dude and lady both happy and cool.
The next one has a lovely 80’s vibe to it. ”The Beats” offers a
fat moog bass, and the drum rythm pays tribute to the Minneapolis funk heroes
The Time. And then there is that jazzy piano. My oh my!
Then Mr Glam Sam gets hipper than hip, offering a jazzy dance
groove for the well-dressed finger snappers and foot stompers. The tune is
called ”Hip City”. Yes, what else?
After an evening in your favourite jazz club it’s time to take it
easy and find some room to stretch out. Glam Sam is happy to provide the sounds
to make you relax: ”Room to Stretch Out” and ”What’s The Matter, Sonny?” should
really do the job, with their loungy, jazzy vibes.
Ok. Time to close the session for now. Let’s make some noise for
the rap master. ”Face The Funk, Face The Fact” is both cool and relaxed hip hop
and jazzy lounge music with that sweet electric piano and the coolest flute man
since Ian Anderson’s heydays.
